 "PrettyLittleThing" is praised for featuring model in hijabs for the first time including a plus-size Muslim influencer to promote it's new modest range."



PrettyLittleThing is a fashion-based retailer company, aimed at 16-24 year old women. When scrolling through the site you normally see petite American women modeling in different dresses,tops, and more. Recently PrettyLittleThing chose a model wearing a hijab for the first time ever! Shoppers have praised PrettyLittleThing for selecting photographs of women wearing hijabs to model its products for the first time. The model that the company picked goes by the name of IIwaad Marsal. She is considered the first hijab model on PLT. She actually recently blew up on twitter after she shared photos of herself advertising a range of of plus-size clothing on the website. IIwaad told supporters,"PrettyLittleThings recently launched the Middle Eastern range and they reached out to me as a Muslim to represent the idea and I got to be a part of the campaign". She also stated that " The love has been so unreal, I'm really happy that I got to be a part of something so big, just being able to represent other modest women and to have that representation is amazing". 

  

 When IIwaad made her post on twitter about modeling for the company, the post received more than 500,000 likes, with people commenting: "This is exceptionally beautiful, and "seeing some hijabi representation in mainstream media is a huge step for us."IIwaads last words to supporters was, "I think the more modest representation the better ,because girls will grow up feeling comfortable and stylish knowing huge brands like PLT are including them and their potential style."

   Decades ago most people typically received information or heard about something from listening to the radio, watching the news, or reading the newspaper. In today's generation those aren't ways that most people receive information. In today's generation it is so easy for someone to pick up their mobile device and open twitter, Instagram, snap chat, or any other form of social media. Social media is the new type of news. Information is not heard as much as it used to be through the news or radio. Its sometimes just seen with our own eyes. This leads me to talk about listening post. Listening post can be a various amount of things.     According to  Statistics ,listening post can mean "A point in process where companies can collect and analyze feedback from their consumers.
