#9 Public Records (National)

Image
Ohio Public Records    As I stated in my last blog, public records are pieces of information that are not considered confidential and generally pertain to the conduct of government. It is also information that is recorded and stored by the government in which the public can have access to it. Public records can mean more than criminal records or driving records. Do you ever wonder what happens behind the scenes of public records? What does a public office have to do when it receives public record request?     A public office must organize and maintain its records to meet its duty to respond to public records requests and must keep a copy of its records retention schedule at a location readily available to the public. When it receives a public records request for specific existing records, the public office must provide inspection of the requested records during regular business hours or provide copies within a reasonable period of time. A requester is enti...

Public Records are documents or pieces of information that are not considered confidential and generally pertain to the conduct of government. To be more specific, the purpose of public records is to help maintain the transparency and accountability in government. To add to that, public records is information that is recorded and stored by the government in which the public has access to view it. Public records are created by the federal and local government. For example, driving records, criminal records, immigration periods etc. When taking a look at magnoliareporter.com ,I couldn't help but to come across news that has happened in the Magnolia area. Magnolia is not considered a huge town, so when criminal activity takes place it doesn't take long for the whole town to find out.         When taking a look at magnoliareporter.com website, I couldn't help but to see news about the Columbia County Justice and Detention Facility. "38 people are curren...

Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall announces as of today (September 9 th ) she will be resigning on November 10 th .     I'm sure when people think of Dallas Texas they think of the beautiful skyline located in downtown or fancy food places to eat at, but I'm sure there is also a handful of people that only think of crime when they think of Dallas. Dallas can be considered one of the safest places in Texas but it can be surprisingly unsafe when you take a look at the crime rates. This is why the Dallas Police Department have tried to do their very best at keeping the city in order and crime-free. One lady in particular that has done an outstanding job of lowering crime rates and keeping the city under control would have to be Chief Renee Hall. She has had the burden and distinction of being the first woman and woman of color to serve as the police Chief of Dallas. She has served for the department since 2017. She is just the fourth person to hold full time in the last 20 yea...
